Introduction
Every critical care nurse has a journey — one filled with curiosity, challenges, and growth. Here’s the story of a nurse who turned her classroom lessons into life-saving practice.
The Beginning
After completing her nursing diploma, she was fascinated by emergency cases — patients who arrived unconscious yet left smiling weeks later. That spark led her to specialize in Critical Care Nursing at Lusaka College of Nursing and Midwifery.
First Days in ICU
The first day was overwhelming: machines beeped endlessly, and patients depended on ventilators. But with guidance from mentors, confidence grew.
The Turning Point
She realized critical care was more than machines — it was about empathy, teamwork, and constant vigilance.
Today
Now, as a senior nurse, she trains juniors and advocates for more ICU training programs in Zambia.
